Many of you who follow me on Instagram will already know that I am an avid supported of Lucky Dip Club. I have been aware of it from it’s beginnings, and several months in I took the plunge to subscribe, after missing out on a number of boxes when I wasn’t up early enough to order them before they sold out!
It was a great decision! Receiving a box of delight once a month is awesome! Each box is filled with excellent goodies designed and made either by Leona herself or by a handpicked creative. It is not only a great thing to look forward to, but a fantastic way of showcasing talent.
I was approached in November to be a part of the February box, and to say I was excited is an understatement! It had been one of my aims as an illustrator to take part, so it was a dream come true. I was given the chance to create a design that went on to become the BFF keyring. The original illustration and colour way is shown here.
I am so pleased to see how it all turned out, and to be included in the second issue of Girl Planet, put together by the lovely Zabby Allen. Other super talented ladies who took part in this Galentine’s Day themed box were Emma Margaret (who designed and illustrated most of this most of the goodies including the ridiculously cute pin!), Louby Jelic of All Her Glory (Who created the fantastic ‘Girls’ banner) and also, Dolly Cool, Lorelai, Katyi Feather (from Caboodle Magazine), Hollie Harris and Sarah Lou Kind Minds.
I love how Leona is supporting new talent and giving them a vehicle to get their work seen by more people. I especially like the way this box encouraged women to support each other and long may it continue!
